what would people say to being able to delete your username history?
the problem with doing this is that users who have previously caused trouble here or who have a reputation for it would be able to delete their username history in order to cover up previous identities.
I've seen this on other sites where unlimited (anonomous) name changes are allowed.
The other problem is that it could be hard for users to keep track of who the heck people are. I know that sometimes when users change their name, I don't recognize who they are till I go into the user name history and see who they used to be. This holds especially true for users who like to change their name as much as possible.
The other problem would be that when you change your name to Genius James, we wouldn't be able to recognise who you were...until you post some more phenomenal ideas to the boards.

Actually, there is one user name I'd love to delete from my history. I did it as a joke and only kept it for a month, but new zoners checking my profile will certainly have the wrong impression of me based on that name without knowing the story behind it. It would be nice if people had the opportunity to delete one of their past user names as long as it was understood they could do this one time only.
